Hi there, I have a Mac and I've been dying to play SimCity 4 for ages. SimCity 5 didn't really interest me after reading reviews, and Cities: Skylines will probably be more appealing once some time has passed.

But for now, I'd really like to satiate my urban planner tendencies and play some SimCity 4. What is the best way to do it? I still own my copy when I had my Dell laptop, I'm just not sure how the whole torrent thing or whatever works. I'm not super computer literate when it comes to the nitty gritty. Thanks in advance!! It's $19.99 and works really well. I'm going to assume what you own is a retail box version of Sim City 4 by Maxis for PC. The Mac version was ported by a third party, Aspyr Media. So retail versions of SimCity 4 were in separate packages for PC and Mac. You will have to buy re-buy Sim City 4 for Mac OS.

This will cost about $5 to $20. Or you will need to get Apple Boot Camp (free) and a retail version of Windows ($120) on order to run your Windows PC version of the game on your Mac. Re-buying SimCity 4 for your Mac is the better way to go. For one it will cost less, and second it will be far less hassle then dealing with a duel boot system. By the way, most computer games today are now bought via digital download.

Brick and mortar retail stores now only carry a limited number of computer games, mostly the latest Triple A titles. SimCity 4 Deluxe is available by digital download for Mac by either the Apple App Store or on Steam. Origin, which is EA's app store, doesn't appear to have the Mac version available for purchase. The Deluxe version includes the base SimCity 4 game and the Rush Hour expansion pack. $20 from the Apple App Store. Or currently $10 (50% off) on Steam until the 22nd.
